Roadside Art Shop in Petropolis

Startling art

I stood in this spot for 5 minutes, just looking at it all.
It’s possible that my mouth was open while I was staring.

Unexpected perils

Deadly

We pulled over to enjoy the view not long before reaching Teresopolis.  As I watched him walk ahead of me (I love watching him walk ahead of me) I nearly leaned forward to rest my arms on this stone pillar.  I stopped just inches before I came down on this guy.

It’s a very good thing I didn’t.  These twiggy little caterpillars are deadly poisonous.

Fly, my Boy

Jump

This is how I see him when he rides.  Sharp detail, clear focus, with the rest of the world fading away.

Its a dangerous sport, and a mother’s eyes get sharp when the babies are in danger, but MAN!  I’m so proud of him at the same time.

Tiger on the prowl

Tiger prowl

The big cats were good to me that day.

Or maybe just hungry.

Oh, my new toy is fun.

Not Giraffes

Flowers in the Rain

I was trying to shoot the giraffes behind the fence when I saw these flowers.

So, I focused up close on the flowers, and the giraffes ducked their heads to eat.

That’s how you get a picture of not-giraffes.

Breathing again

Fountain

How do you take a long exposure photo with no tripod?  Hold your breath!

Rowr

So fast, he could eat me for lunch and take a nap before I knew what happened.

My Girl loves these guys.
